Or the parts to assemble one. Friend of mine told me that his dad wanted to get rid of their canoes because they aren’t using them anymore. Since I’m moving to the coast this weekend, I thought why not. I politely asked if I could have the single seater and they gave it to me for free. Yay! Nice people!
Rügen is basically several peninsulas mashed together, so these “lakes” between them (they are salt water) should be ideal for a little paddling.
I’ll miss my mountains and alpine skiing, but this might be a worthwile substitute.
Oh, and I just realized that I can now do this, if my students try to be dicks.

The latter. The idea is that it folds in two bags (one is a backpack) so that you can even carry it to where you want to start, if you are so inclined and hate cars. It looks complicated, but it’s a 5 minute one man job.
I still have the Accord, so no way of transporting a canoe without roof racks. This doesn’t even fill half the trunk.

Yep! Why still? Found a permanent position with A+ benefits and the option to turn it into a lifetime position (as in they can never fire me) in a few years.

Let’s call it “interesting”. Their idea of good food is fish. I am more accustomed to Bavarian cuisine which means huge chunks of pig or cow done to perfection.

Berlin? Gentrification is going on as we speak. Visit it now! Great city with lots of “undergroud” stuff. As of right now.
People say that Leipzig or Prague are the “new” Berlin. As in cheap places to rent and set up whatever artsy thing you want to.
Should you visit Berlin maybe we can meet up for a beer or two in one of the less touristicky places. I have friends and fam there, and it’s only a 3 hours drive.
